Åpent brev angående strukturendringer i Norsk Travsport.

Viser til TGN nr.45, lederen i bladet og artikkelen i sin helhet på side 3. omhandlende forslag om økning til tre dager med lunsjtravløp hver uke på bekostning av kveldstrav.

Grunnfjellet i sporten er Amatøren. 75% av de starthestene som til enhver tid skal fylle løpene på Norske travbaner er eiet og trent av amatører. De fleste har sporten som en positiv hobby, og lever av annet arbeid! Våre spørsmål til mottagerne av dette åpne brevet er - har dere tenkt igjennom de langsiktige konsekvensene for:

- Rekrutteringen

- Amatør treneren og kusken

- Heste-eieren

- Montè rytteren

- Travbanen / publikum / restaurant

Gode åpne prosesser med bred deltagelse er nødvendig for å ivareta alle sider i sporten vår. Norsk Travamatørforening har i sitt styremøte den 22.juni fattet et vedtak om at vi ikke kan støtte denne strukturendringen.

Gammel sliten traver

Om ikke noen snart tar til fornuft og tenker litt på dyrene, menneskene som trener dem og publikum så er snart travsporten like interessant som nattorientering. Trav døgnet rundt, fra klokken 12:00 til sene kvelden blir rett og slett for mye.

Om vi skal sette hele vår egne terminliste fullstendig på hodet for at det skal stemme med når våre svenske naboer kjører travløp så blir det helt feil. Spill, spill, spill og atter spill er det som gjelder i Hestesportens Hus.
